COMMITTEE MEMBER/BOD LIAISON BIOGRAPHIES:
Angela Swanson
Angela received her degree in Accounting from the University of Colorado at Denver and is a CPA and a Managing Director with Ernst & Young LLP. She provides financial statement audit services to public and private clients in Colorado. Angela previously served on the board of JA Engage, the young professional group for Junior Achievement – Rocky Mountain. In addition, she is active as a parent volunteer at North Star Academy previously serving on the auction committee and the school’s Foundation board. Angela and her husband have two boys, one of whom both attend NSA and she enjoys reading, baking and spending time outdoors in her free time.
Brett LaPierre
Brett currently serves as Director of Research for Peak Capital Management, LLC, a fee-only SEC Registered Investment Advisory firm that focuses primarily on providing investment management and retirement planning services. Brett has a Master of Science in Finance degree from the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and has 18 years of financial industry experience. Brett and his wife, Rhondalea, live in Parker, CO, with their two sons. He enjoys golfing, time with family and sporting events in his spare time.
Dave Roach
Dave has lived in Colorado for 5 years and has four children attending North Star Academy with one more that will start in 2016. Dave has worked for the last ten years in various finance and operations roles. He currently is Risk Manger for ProBuild Holdings, a multi-billion dollar lumber and building materials distributor. Dave has a B.S. in entrepreneurship and MBA from Brigham Young University.
Heidi Thompson
Heidi is originally from South Dakota. She moved to Colorado as a young child and grew up in the Parker area. She has an undergraduate degree in Accounting and an active CPA license. Heidi has worked in the public and private sector, including holding positions as both an Auditor and a Controller. Since the birth of her first son, she has been a stay-at-home Mom and actively involved with the schools her children attend. As an active NSA parent volunteer, Heidi has served in many areas, including: Board Member, Classroom Volunteer, Room Parent, Finance Committee Member, Fun Run Coordinator, Battle of the Books Coach and AVC for Special Events.
