Traffic Information

To help ensure the safety of our students, every North Star Academy household participates in Traffic Duty.

Each household is asked to complete 6 Traffic Duty shifts each school year. Families are assigned volunteer months based on their oldest child's grade level, beginning with our middle school families. Shifts may be completed in the morning, afternoon, or as a combination of both.

Traffic Duty counts toward your annual volunteer hours:

  • Morning Shift: 1 volunteer hour
  • Afternoon Shift: 2 volunteer hours

If you are unable to work your scheduled shift, it is your responsibility to find a replacement using the Traffic Duty Substitute List on the NSA website or by posting in the NSA Parents Facebook group. If you are unable to secure a substitute, please notify the Traffic AVC as soon as possible.

Before your first Traffic Duty shift, please review the resources below, including the Traffic Plan and Traffic Plan Video, to become familiar with our procedures and help ensure a safe and efficient arrival and dismissal process.

If you enjoy Traffic Duty and would like to work additional shifts above and beyond your six (6) shifts, sign up to be a Traffic Duty Substitute by emailing Courtney Smith at [email protected].
