History
North Star Academy was founded by a group of parents who believed families should have both a voice and a choice in their children’s education. We dreamed of creating a school that would challenge students academically while also developing the whole child.
We wanted our students to receive an exceptional academic foundation with proven curriculum, a world class foreign language program, and meaningful character education. Most importantly, we wanted to develop well-rounded young people who are confident, compassionate, responsible and prepared to make a positive difference in the world.
After two years of planning and development, North Star Academy opened its doors in 2006 with 350 students and a shared vision to create an extraordinary place of learning, growth and opportunity.
From the beginning, North Star has been built on partnership. We believe it takes a village to educate a child, and we deeply value the partnership among parents, teachers, students and our community. We believe children thrive when the adults in their lives work together, communicate productively and share a common purpose. Our mission is the foundation for everything we do. Every decision we make is guided by our mission and by what is best for our students.
