ENROLLMENT

North Star Academy (NSA) is a public charter school (tuition free) in Douglas County, CO, and all enrollment policies follow state and federal guidelines for charter schools. Parents must request enrollment into NSA by filling out an Intent to Enroll form   prior to or during NSA's open enrollment period. Submitting this Intent to Enroll form  does not obligate the student to attend NSA, nor does it guarantee admission.  


Open Enrollment 

2010-2011 School Year

While NSA accepts Intent to Enroll forms at any time, the Douglas County School District Open Enrollment Period for the 2010-2011 school year is December 1, 2009 - January 15, 2010. If you are interested in having your child attend NSA for the 2010-2011 school year, your Intent to Enroll form  must be received no later than January 15, 2010. A lottery will be held January 19, 2010, for any grade that is undersubscribed.

Future School Years
If you are a new family and interested in having your child attend NSA in future years, we will follow the procedure outlined in our enrollment policy. All Intent to Enroll forms must be received no later than January 15 for the upcoming school year. A lottery will be held on January 16 or the next business day following of each year for any grade that is undersubscribed.

PLEASE NOTE:  NSA IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST INTENT TO ENROLL FORMS.  WHILE FORMS CAN BE FAXED, MAILED, EMAILED OR HAND-DELIVERED,  IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE SENDER TO ENSURE RECEIPT BY NSA.  YOU ARE ENCOURAGED TO CALL AFTER YOU FAX, MAIL OR EMAIL TO CONFIRM RECEIPT OF YOUR INTENT TO ENROLL FORM!
